By completing the Integrated University Undergraduate and Graduate Philosophical-theological Study Programme, a student fulfills the academic requirements for holding an ecclesiastical office and receiving the sacrament of Holy order of deacon and presbyter. There is a possibility of scientific-research activity within the field of Theology and in the area of humanistic and social sciences as well. Particular opportunities are in the form of a teaching work in school and a catechetical work in religious community.
There are also other possibilities of work in providing various forms of spiritual assistance, of work in missionary countries and of work with the broader social and cultural impact: publishing, means of social communication, ecclesiastical administration, librarianship, archivistics, pastoral care, family counseling centers, ethical committees, etc. By completing the Integrated Undergraduate and Graduate Philosophical-theological Study, a student has open access to enrollment to the university postgraduate study programmes in various scientific disciplines in the Republic of Croatia and abroad. Requirements for admission to those study programmes are determined by the institutions of higher education at which these programmes are conducted.
At the Catholic Faculty of Theology, after the completion of Integrated University Undergraduate and Graduate Philosophical-theological Study, students can enroll directly in the Postgraduate University Study of Licentiate and Doctorate – in one of the seven modules/specializations. By completing the Undergraduate and Graduate University Study Programme of Religious Pedagogy and Catechetics a student fulfills the academic requirements for conducting religious education in elementary and high schools, as well as in pre-school institutions. There is a possibility to engage in the broader field of religious education, catechesis, and spiritual-religious culture within ecclesial communities with children, youth, and adults, as well as in publishing, means of social communication, ecclesiastical administration, pastoral care, family counseling centers, ethical committees, etc. After completing university integrated study programmes lay masters usually take a job in educational institutions as religious education teachers.
By completing the Graduate University Study of Religious Pedagogy and Catechetics, student has open access to enrollment to the university study programmes, primarily in the social-humanistic scientific area. Requirements for admission to study programmes in those areas are determined by the institutions of higher education at which these programmes are conducted. At the Catholic Faculty of Theology, students can enroll in the Postgraduate University Study of Licentiate and Doctorate – in one of the seven modules/specializations – under the condition that in the year before enrollment in the Licentiate Study Programme they achieve the necessary number of ECTS Credits, which are defined by the study programme, by passing a number of additional differemtial exams.
By completing this Study Programme, student is skilled for activity in all segments of the sacral musical life, which includes holding offices of the Church organist and choir conductor, as well as moderator and coordinator of the liturgical celebrations and concerts in the sacral places. There is also a possibility of further study at the Zagreb Academy of Music of the University of Zagreb, by enrolling Graduate University Study Programme of Music in study directions Organs or Music Pedagogy.
There are also other possibilities of work in providing various forms of spiritual assistance in pastoral care, of work in missionary countries and of work with the broader social and cultural impact: publishing, means of social communication, ecclesiastical administration, librarianship, archivistics, family counseling centers, ethical committees, human resources, ecology, promoting ecumenical, interreligious and intercultural dialogue, etc.
