Type of the Study Programme:

Integrated Undergraduate and Graduate University Study Programme. Integrated Undergraduate and Graduate Philosophical-theological Study Programme, along with the philosophical formation, includes all theological disciplines with the neccessary introduction to the scientific methodology.

Conducting of the Study Programme:

Integrated Undergraduate and Graduate University Philosophical-theological Study Programme is conducted as a regular study programme.

Duration of the Study Programme:

Five years, ten semesters (0+5 years model).

ECTS Credits:

Study Programme has a workload of 300 ECTS Credits.

Academical title obtained upon the completion of the Study Programme:

Master of Theology (mag. theol.).

Competences gained upon the completion of the Study Programme:

Upon the completion of the Study Programme, a student fulfills the academic requirements for holding an ecclesiastical office and receiving the sacrament of Holy order of deacon and presbyter.

There is a possibility of scientific-research activity within the field of Theology and in the area of humanistic and social sciences as well. Particular opportunities are in the form of a teaching work in school and a catechetical work in religious community.

There are also other possibilities of work in providing various forms of spiritual assistance, of work in missionary countries and of work with the broader social and cultural impact: publishing, means of social communication, ecclesiastical administration, librarianship, archivistics, pastoral care, family counseling centers, ethical committees, etc.

Possibilities of  further study:

By completing the Integrated Undergraduate and Graduate Philosophical-theological Study, a student has open access to enrollment to the university postgraduate study programmes in various scientific disciplines in the Republic of Croatia and abroad. Requirements for admission to those study programmes are determined by the institutions of higher education at which these programmes are conducted.

At the Catholic Faculty of Theology, after the completion of Integrated University Undergraduate and Graduate Philosophical-theological Study, students can enroll directly in the Postgraduate University Study of Licentiate and Doctorate – in one of the seven modules/specializations.

„Theological inquiry should pursue a profound understanding of revealed truth; at the same time it should not neglect close contact with its own time that it may be able to help these men skilled in various disciplines to attain to a better understanding of the faith.
